Now that the Dual Shock 3 controller is out in the US we took some videos from YouTube to see what gamers think about this new PlayStation 3 controller from Sony. Most of them are really happy with the weight of the controller and the vibration function of the controller. Most gamers also noticed that the wireless technology has improved.
]]>Because the Dual Shock 3 has been out for a few days in the US, we decided to collect a few cool unboxing videos from YouTube. The packaging of the US Dual Shock 3 controller isn’t that different from the Japanese box, but it’s just cool to see the unboxing of hardware! Almost every gamer got his Dual Shock 3 controller from GameStop and pre-ordered it there.

The Dual Shock 3 is nothing new to Japan, but this piece of nice rumbling PlayStation 3 technology isn’t available in Europe yet. The Dual Shock 3 is out in the US as well, so next up are the PAL territories. Sony Europe has no idea when the Dual Shock 3 PS3 controller will be coming to Europe. Our advice? Don’t wait for Sony Europe to announce a date and import the US Dual Shock 3 controller. It’s region free, really cheap thanks to the low dollar and it shakes!

Why would anyone still want the old not rumbling SIXAXIS controller for the PlayStation 3 anyway? A Sony rep has told MTV that they’re taking the old version of the PS3 controller out of production. They’re now going to sell through all Dual Shock 3 controllers in retail, and by this summer there won’t be any SIXAXIS controllers left in stores. Sony is cleaning out their warehouses and they’re hoping that they’ll be able to get rid of those old PS3 controllers. Would you still want a SIXAXIS when you can get a vibrating? Didn’t think so! Goodbye SIXAXIS, we won’t miss you!

Kotaku has received a Dual Shock 3 controller from Sony America as a test sample and they were so kind to shoot a few pictures of the new PS3 controller for us. They say the old SixAxis PS3 controller feels like a shell compared to the new rumble controller. The US Dual Shock 3 controller is now available at Play-Asia, and for European gamers it’s even cheaper than the Japanese version. One Dual Shock 3 gamepad costs about 35 EUR, about three EUR cheaper than the Japanese one. Pics here.
